Original German sailor’s Kriegsmarine parade dagger

Region of origin: Germany

Manufacturer: Eickhorn Solingen

Metal: steel

The blade of this collectible dagger is straight, polished steel, with engraving. Handle with winding of spiral wire. An eagle with a swastika on the top of the handle. The holster also has two fastening rings with chains for attaching to the uniform.

The ceremonial daggers of the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) have deep historical roots dating back to the 19th century. They were not only status symbols, but also reflected the prestige of naval officers. After the fall of the Third Reich in 1945, many Kriegsmarine ceremonial daggers were hidden or destroyed and fell into the hands of American, Soviet or British soldiers as trophies. After the war, replicas were produced for the souvenir market, but the originals are still very valuable today.
